Goal: Paint an expressive piece of art within an Art-Boutique Hostel in NYC.
Concept: I was going through a period of time where concepts of love, loss, life and death were present in my everyday life. I have always felt as though there is beauty and serenity in all of these aspects of life that can only be understood from experiencing them. Many people close to me were losing loved ones and coming to me for advice and guidance. With these emotions flowing into my ear and headspace, there was an overwhelming amount of thought and empathy being generated into this image. The bones are broken, but the rose carries forward and overgrows the subject - absorbing all the light. There can be no life without death, no love without loss. Ultimately though, regardless of the shadows that can be cast by these ideas, love is eternal.
